Gen-C 2.0 is an in vitro line probe assay for the genotyping of hepatitis C virus. The assay discriminates between HCV genotypes on the basis of variations in the 5’ UTR and Core regions. The assay works with amplicons obtained with NLM code AA896/24. For optimal results it is strictly recommended to use samples with viral load between 2x103 and 1x107 (if necessary dilute high viral load plasma before the RNA extraction).
Acinetobacter baumannii is a gram-negative, aerobic bacterium which is responsible for
nosocomial infections. It occurs mainly in intensive care units. This bacterium is often resistant to antibiotics and thus difficult to treat. It can lead to pneumonia, catheter-associated infections and can also cause sepsis.
